Steven TylerAfter a few years on the Boston club circuit, under the guidance of their first manager Frank Connelly, the band began to work together with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. In 1972 Aerosmith signed a recording agreement and debuted their first album. It was followed in 1973 by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. and Draw the Line. These albums contributed to Aerosmith achieve international fame. These albums yielded famous hits like "Dream On", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's initial five albums were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are considered as some of the best album of hard rock to date. As the decade went by however, the group's hectic lifestyle of performing, recording and living together was beginning to wear the band down. For their notorious use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were often called the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music as well as many videos released by Aerosmith reveal their relationship. Tyler appeared more committed to Aerosmith than Perry and had a resentment of Perry for his passive attitude. He also envied Perry's priority of females in his life. Aerosmith was in decline around 1980 because of tensions between Perry and Tyler.
