Morgan Smith
Morgan earned his degree from Columbia College, Columbia University in addition to Columbia University and the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was picked to be the Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). The singer was the first professional to debut with Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith is an established Seattle popular and has performed roles in twelve other productions that include Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra in the musical, and also The Count Alamaviva, in Le nozze di Figaro. An established performer at the concert stage with the Seattle Symphony, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and made his debut as a member of the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien und Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral arrangement of the popular cycle by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the schedule, along with the Requiems composed by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams and Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many Cantatas, as well as Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
